I've been wanting to jot these two posts down for awhile now. So finally here we go!
This is how to make delicious oven baked fries!
Cut the potato in half lengthwise. Hold each half up on it's side and cut it in half again, so you have four flat(ish) pieces of potato. Cut each quarter into 3-4 four slices (they should look like sticks) or you can make really thin fries and cut more. Place in large tupperware with lid. Drizzle with olive oil. Add some salt and pepper. Put lid on and shake. Spray a cooking sheet. Then cook the fries for 10 minutes at a time at 400 degrees, stirring or flipping fries every 10 minutes - takes about a total of 30 minutes.
Yummy! And you don't have to mess with frying in hot oil (I'm so bad at that)! Next post will have to wait. The baby is calling...
Now spanning the good 'ole United States of America, from Virginia to California.

Crispy Seasoned French Fries

We're having dinner guests over and these are on the menu. I haven't made them before but Dan wanted fries with our "one bad meal". We get one bad meal a week these days and tonight is it! I didn't have a recipe for fries so I went searching and I liked this one the most out of what I saw.
INGREDIENTS
2 1/2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon onion salt
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 cup water, or as needed
1 cup vegetable oil for frying
DIRECTIONS
Slice potatoes into French fries, and place into cold water so they won't turn brown while you prepare the oil.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. While the oil is heating, sift the flour, garlic salt, onion salt, (regular) salt, and paprika into a large bowl. Gradually stir in enough water so that the mixture can be drizzled from a spoon.
Dip potato slices into the batter one at a time, and place in the hot oil so they are not touching at first. The fries must be placed into the skillet one at a time, or they will clump together. Fry until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Side Note: You can also bake these at 350 for 45 mintues and get the same thing but healthier.
